Vanilla hits Hollywood...well...not quite...

The hockey game tonight was AWESOME! Of course my home team won...yippee! But what makes it better is that someone in my section won the draw to get their seats upgraded to one of the club seats. You ask how this benefits me?!? Well...do I have a story to tell...

As the winners of the upgraded seats was approximately 4 rows up and 8 seats over from where I was, the big screen panned onto the winners. Of course then they zoom out and do a crowd shot...that's where I see my Superstar sister just slightly on the big screen...that's when I nudge her and she starts waving her new team blanket on the big screen.

Well, the camera zooms in and Superstar decides she's gonna chicken out and ducks behind the blanket, leaving, yes, Vanilla all by herself sitting there like a grinning idiot. Meanwhile Superstar can't stiffle her giggles.

So that was me, Vanilla's big 5 seconds of fame. To make matters worse, Superstar's friends were also at this game and they actually text messaged Superstar to tell her they recognized us at the game. Hmmm...wonder if TSN televised that moment?

Just another Vanilla day...

Well, I've decided to join the world of blogging as it seems sometimes there's something *different* that happens in my life that I want to share with everyone, but sending an email seems so...well...odd. It's not like it's that important, but at the same time, I want to get the news out there!

Why "Just Vanilla" you ask? For those of you who know my Superstar sister, she was the one who coined that nickname for me...and in thinking about it, it really does suit me! I've never claimed to be nor have ever been anything outside of the ordinary. I don't like to take risks, I'm highly predictable and consider myself just like any other white collar professional here in the city. So in reflecting on the nickname, it really, really is me...plain and simple, but at the same time adaptable in most situations.

Anyways, Vanilla is me and I've had a vanilla type of day...didn't do much of anything yet it was a day well spent...catching up on some zzz's, messing around on the computer and a day of Food Network TV and now hockey...what more can one ask for on a day off?
